With this setup, the system automatically assesses each individual score and identifies those that are acceptable for handicap purposes.
AUTOMATIC CALCULATION
HANDICAP ALLOWANCE
For the individual score calculation, a Playing Handicap with an 85% Handicap Allowance (Rules of Handicapping – Appendix C) is applied to calculate the Stableford points. The value is then adjusted for the difference relative to the Course Handicap.
CONDITIONS FOR THE SCORE TO COUNT
A player’s individual score is acceptable for handicap purposes when the following three conditions are met cumulatively:
– Team score – the team’s net score is at least 6 strokes better than par (or at least 42 points in Stableford).
– Individual contribution – the player’s individual score counts towards the team score on at least 9 holes.
– Individual score – the player’s individual 18-hole score, calculated with the 85% Handicap Allowance, is equal to or better than 36 Stableford points.
CALCULATION OF THE INDIVIDUAL STABLEFORD SCORE
The player’s individual score is calculated hole-by-hole, as follows:

The score did not count and the partner scored 2 or more points | 1.5 points |
The score did not count and the partner scored only 1 point | 1 point |

The 18-hole total produces the individual Stableford score, which is rounded down to the nearest whole number.
FINAL ADJUSTMENT
The score is then adjusted for the difference between the Course Handicap and the Playing Handicap:
Individual score + (Course Handicap − Playing Handicap) = individual score for handicap purposes.
Example: a player with a calculated individual score of 37 points, a Course Handicap of 17 and a Playing
Handicap of 14, obtains: 37 + (17 − 14) = 40 points for handicap purposes.
